Hell

According to surviving records, the property was originally an estate belonging to the Pálffy family. It housed a coaching inn known as "U zeleného stromu" (At the Green Tree), which provided accommodation—primarily for carters—and stabling for their horses. In the late 19th century, the inn was purchased by the Wallner family; originally from Lower Austria, they had served as stewards of the count's estates in Rača. In 1919, the estate and the inn—by then known as "Peklo" (Hell)—were purchased by Tomáš Sedramac (according to accounts provided by his son, Miloš Sedramac, and daughter, Anča Sedramacová). The last known owner was Mr. Khandl. When the horse-drawn railway service between Bratislava and Trnava began in 1840, a station for changing the horses that pulled the train—the so-called "koňka"—was located near the railway station in Rača, operating twice daily.

During the revolutionary years of 1848–1849, 1,500 of Hurban’s volunteers—who had been relocated from Stupava—were quartered in the area where the "Constitution of the Slovak Republic" Park and the "Fallen" Memorial are now located. One company among them consisted of volunteers from Rača. The volunteers also took their oath here in the presence of Štúr, Hurban, and Hodža.
